Handcrafted by a young and talented master silversmith from Peru whose designs are inspired by Inca motifs and nature, this teardrop shaped pendant in silver filigree has a beautiful peacock feather at it´s center.
Handcrafted from 925 silver, a single wire, itself created by hand from several strands of silver, is twisted to create these unique and intricate filigree forms in an abstract design.
Filigree was introduced to the Americas by the conquering Spaniards, who in turn inherited the technique from the influx of Arabs & Jews to Spain during the Moorish period.
The technique was widespread in the Middle East thanks to new ideas introduced via the Silk Road and was adopted by Jewish communities that became expert goldsmiths in the art of filigree design.
