Glass pendant, handblown in green glass into a donut shape and hung on a metallic leather cord in silver with a 925 silver lobster claw clasp.
This green glass is handblown by a master craftsman from The Lebanon, where the first glass blowing techniques were developed.
The glassmaking process was shrouded in secrecy, the techniques passed from one generation of glassblowers to the next.
So highly prized was the glassmaking industry that the punishment for discosing its secrets was death.
Eventually the techniques found their way from the Eastern Mediterranean to other islands in the Med and in time, the Arab glassblowers taught the technique to artisans in Venice, which still produces the famed murano glass to this day.
Glass jewelery made from recycled glass makes lovely sustainable gifts or a small gift idea that´s affordable.
The pendant necklace measures:
(Metric): glass pendant: 4.5cm diameter and
the cord measures: 44cm long
or
(Imperial): glass pendant: 1.77" diameter
and the cord measures: 17.32".
Being an artisan made product, measurements may vary very slightly.
