Crossbody bag in leather and red, terracotta and pink striped recycled cottton
WHY WE LOVE IT
This crossbody bag is handmade in authentic leather and the left-over fabric from the furniture manufacturing process.
Cutting the cotton into strips, the Andalusian craftsman weaves the pieces together on an ancient wooden loom to create original striped fabric.
Combined with the best calf leather, each bag is handcrafted, unique and original.
Each crossbody bag is handcrafted by an artisan from Andalusia; using up-cycled cotton remnants from furniture manufacturers, the artisan shreds the textile using the ancient Andalusian craft of "jarapa".
Reassembled on a 200 year old wooden loom, the pieces are blended into unique stripes creating a new fabric and then combined with the best quality calf leather to create an original piece. This original bag has stripes in reds, terracottas and pinks.
The leather strap on the handmade bag is adjustable, and can be worn either on the shoulder or across the body, "bandolero" style (bandolero is Spanish for bandit; bandits roamed the Andalusian countryside in the 18th and 19th centuries, wearing their bags across the body to leave their hands free).
Each leather bag is zipped on the outside and has a separate pocket, in a differing woven material, on the inside.
The colorful bag is lined in thick cotton.
