Small Alcazar Moroccan sconce in aluminium for indoor and outdoor use

Surprisingly light-weight and yet sturdy and strong, these atmospheric silver colored Moorish style Alcazar wall lights are cut out by hand in 4mm dense aluminium: they easily hook onto the wall over a light bulb, having a strong bar across the back.

They offer a good light source whilst also creating an atmospheric feel as the light filters through the design, which is based on one of the oldest Arabic geometric designs found from the Alhambra Palace in Southern Spain to mosques all over the Middle East and North Africa.

Created by Moroccan artisans using moulds, this is tough, hot work, a production process invented before the era of factories.  Each lamp is cast in a clay mould, the hot aluminium is poured in and once set, the mould is bashed away by hand with a hammer.

Thanks to the artisan production process, each light is unique, but the same intrinsic design and shape remains across all pieces.  We believe that this homogenity and yet individuality is the beauty of artisan made goods, and these beautiful Alcazar wall lights are a good example of this "the same, but different" approach.

These are easy to maintain and aluminium doesn´t rust - big pluses, especially for outdoor lighting!

This sconce can be used both inside and also outside in the garden, terrace or patio. 

These wall sconces do not come with any electrical parts: they are simply placed over a light source with a couple of L hooks.

The smaller version of the Alcazar light wall measures:
