The Beauty of Hand-Crafted Artistry

Our sumptuous curtain pullbacks are created by master craftsmen from Morocco, one a metalsmith, the other steeped in the art of threads, known in French as "l´art de passementerie". 

But this is an art-form like no other: using basic tools of pencil and paper, a hard surface, a hammer, metal cutting tools and a solder, the metalworker creates his handmade pieces using just his hands and trusty tools, cutting out intricate patterns to create a square-cut metal motif which he then solders together to create a double-sided design. 

The metal motif is then combined with the artistry of the thread-maker, whose tools are even more fundamental: using his hands, fingers, toes, a large needle and some scissors, he is able to create the looping, curling patterns from his threads, creating a tieback tie with an intricate, delicate fringe. 

Together they make something not good, but extraordinary, using very low impact, environmentally friendly production processes.

Handcrafted items possess an inherent charm that mass-produced alternatives often lack. With meticulous attention to detail, our artisans ensure that each piece is unique, transforming a simple tie back into an artful display.  Each product features slight variations, adding to its unique character and charm, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

The central square motif is made of German Silver (a mix of 60% copper, 20% zinc and 20% nickel), is hand cut and double sided.
