Our stunning black leather tote bag, in the larger version of this design, is made from soft and supple goatskin leather combined with the plant based textile that is rayon, which has been handwoven in mixed soft grey and muted yellow, creating a lovely subtle striped fabric with a beautiful sheen.
Rayon is a vegetable fabric derived from cellulose wood pulp left over from other manufacturing processes.
The rayon threads have been handwoven on traditional wooden looms by a community of artisans in Morocco. The warp, or background color, is interwoven with the weft, the over-colors.
Their combination gives a lovely, iridescent sheen to the fabric and the artisan production process makes each piece a unique handbag as well as created using a low environmental impact method.
To open and close the handmade leather bag there is a long zip on the outside and a small pocket with a zip on the inside.
This beautiful leather tote bag is also fully lined.
