Our spectacular handmade tassels and drapery tassel tie backs are combined with an exquisite silver metal design made of three graded spheres of different sizes, each one double sided and hammered by hand.
The tassels can be used as curtain holdbacks to make stunning window treatments or simply as luxurious decorative accents for room décor, hung in windows, a mirror, from a beam or at the end of a curtain pole, as tassels for furniture, at the entrance in a hallway or as wall décor for a living room, bedroom or dining room.
We love that all this has been created by two expert artisans in Morocco: one gifted in metalwork, the other in the art of working threads, known as passementerie.
Between them, the artisans have created a sophisticated piece with a modern feel, using skills that have changed little in hundreds of years and that are usually passed down from one family member to the next. We love how the design of this tassel has been used with the most basic of tools: paper drawings, a hard surface, a hammer for the metalsmith. Scissors, a large needle, hands, fingers and toes for the thread maker. Such low impact production skills, on the envionrment at least, but with such a high impact with their creations!
The tassels are testament to the skills of the expert craftsmen.
These curtain tie backs are medium in size and are sold in pairs.
The curtain holdbacks measure:
Metric: 94cm long in total; the fringe and motif measure 63cm long x 11cm at it´s widest point
or
